Abstract

Lithium niobate (LiNbO3) is a widely used material for frequency doubling, but it requires input from a laser source fabricated separately. This defense will demonstrate the integration of thin film lithium niobate passives with lasers based on gallium arsenide (GaAs), fabricated in a single heterogeneous process. The heterogeneous process is used to produce tunable lasers and heterogeneously integrated second harmonic generation.
